Apart from being chained to my 9-6 job, limbu also likes to squeeze at customs for loklok. Low SES bobian, but also wanna look atas AF, so limbu went to scout for the best unique hotels to stay on your short vacation for just under SGD$60!

1. The Ardens Hotel (For the Dreamers)

This hotel gives me Alice In The Wonderland vibes with the checkered floor tiles and *Cough* Ikea *cough* mirror. Their aesthetic claw-foot bathtub can be found in the Luxe Room. It’s an open concept bathroom, so bring your bae for a staycay where you’ll both learn to overcome the highest tier of a relationship: Pooping in front of each other. #Relationshipgoals However, there’s a curtain provided for more privacy, if you’re not into that sort of pooping fetish. It’s located near Austin Heights Water and Adventure Park to fuel your adrenaline rush, and you can head over to Aeon Mall Tebrau City to satisfy your growling stomach.

Address: 9, Jalan Austin Perdana 2/22, Taman Austin Perdana, 81100 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
Price: From SGD$38/Night on Agoda

2Replacement Lodge & Kitchen (For the Cafe Hoppers)

If you dream of waking up to the smell of coffee and whiff of breakfast without slogging your guts out in the kitchen, this is the perfect place to stay. Although the room is pretty small, it’s pretty cosy enhanced with the skylight on the ceiling . Furthermore, it’s located within the hubs of cafes where you can have brunch (Or a second breakfast, if you’re an elf from LOTR). Do note that it’s a communal bathroom, so please don’t walk out naked with a morning sausage, no one wants to see that.

Address: 3, Jalan Dhoby, Bandar Johor Bahru, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia
Price: From SGD$52/Night on AirBnB

Although their tagline “Bed In a Box” hints that the room is rather small, it offers a cosy space to rest your eyes after a full day out. One of the perks of this hotel is the 24-hour lounge and bar that provides free coffee and snacks for you to chill or contemplate your life choices at 3am. FREE STUFF ARE THE BEST STUFF. If you are feeling rather tired from travelling too far, Tasek Central Mall is just right around the corner.

It’s the only eco-friendly green hotel in Malaysia, which explains the vertical green wall that compliments the interior design. It’s literally next to Austin Heights Water & Adventure Park, so you can be a ninja on the street, princess in the sheets;) Who says you can’t be anything you wanna be?

They host events like handcraft markets every now and then so do check out their Facebook page for updates!

They can even store your luggage for you after you check out, so leave your baggage (literally) and explore with ease! Lok Lok Taman Pelangi is a mere 5 minute walk to satisfy your MUST HAVE local nosh for late night supper. KSL is located relatively near as well, so don’t worry about travelling too far to do your nails or to eat everyone’s favourite Soon Soon Bah Kut Teh. If you’re down at KSL on Mondays, there’s a KSL Night Market just right beside the mall that sells local street food and even pet fishes!
